April 8 and 9     OPEN STUDIO     10 am – 5 pm

This once-yearly event features new and recent work for sale and displayed in our studio. This is an opportunity to see where and how we work; the remainder of the year the studio is open by appointment only.


June 10     ART FEST     9 am – 5 pm               Chalet Place, 56th & Summitview, Yakima

Annual outdoor event. New work is showcased from us along with the work of 20+ Central Washington fine artists and fine craftspeople. Live music and food, too! See the new website for a full list of participants: ArtFest


July 7-29     AGAINST THE SKY

New pastel work by Bob of the region and recent travels, with new mixed media work by Renee Adams (website here) that focuses on the interface of the human and natural worlds. See the Gallery One website (here) for information, hours, and other events that the gallery hosts.


July 15 & 16     PASTEL WORKSHOP     9 am – 4 pm           Gallery One, Ellensburg

Join Bob for an exploration into dry/soft pastel, with discussions and presentations on different papers, types of pastel, and approaches. Participants will be given a supply list with registration at Gallery One (website here).


September 23 & 24     PAINTING WORKSHOP          9 am – 4 pm at our studio

Join us in our studio for a focused experience on composition, design, color and value balance, along with problem-solving some of your painting issues. It gives you a chance to get one-on-one help. Please note that this is not a technique- or process-driven workshop. Suitable for all skill levels.

  • $150 for 2 days
  • Media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, collage, color pencil, pastel, oil pastel – work with your preferred medium.
  • A supply list is given with registration.
  • We will provide coffee, tea, snacks, encouragement and smiles, and tables and chairs.
  • Lodging: we can accommodate tent and RV campers (free); motels are 5 miles away.
  • Class size: 15 maximum. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-enrolled basis.
  • Cancellations less than 14 days before the starting date receive a 75% refund.

October 20 & 21, and 21 & 22     COLOR THEORY I & II     9 am – 4 pm at our studio.

A revival of last year’s popular Color Theory I workshop, and a second level (Color Theory II) for those from last year to continue forward. An overview of color and color-combining strategies including simultaneous contrast, afterimage, elusive and transitory colors, contextual color perception and others. Projects will be collage-based using magazines and Albers Color Packs (included as part of the lab fee). Suitable for all skill levels. You must have had Color Theory I to enroll in Color Theory II.
