INTRODUCTION TO DRY PASTELS 1 — Have you wanted to try your hand with pastels but didn’t know where to start? Join Bob for a one day introduction to this exciting material. Work with an inexpensive set of pastels on three types of pastel paper. Bob will guide you through the processes of layering, using fixatives, and how to protect your work. A simple supply list will be given with registration.

INTRODUCTION TO DRY PASTELS 2 — Join Bob for a second day exploring and experimenting with pastels. Compositional balance and proportion will be introduced, as well as mixed media processes. This session is also open to students that have previously worked with Bob, or are already familiar with handling pastel but need pointers and feedback about their work or their process.

July 28 & 29          COLLAGE – A PERSONAL JOURNEY

9am – 4pm          Larson Gallery          Yakima WA

Join Carol in an exciting exploration of collage. She writes: “Collage is an exciting way to break through the barriers and fears to do what our hearts and heads would like to do.  Collage allows for the integration of memories, collected ephemera, abstract and emotional concepts, and their communication that goes beyond the mere representation of a specific event or memory.  Explore new ideas and skills while revisiting memories, history, and visual communication through this fun art form.” Suitable for all skill levels.

Visit the Larson Gallery website (Larson Gallery) for registration information and fees.
